This book has been on my TBR since it first came out. I was really in the mood to read a mafia book in this was the one that popped out. I have read the Carter Reed series and had to refresh my memory as Cole was introduced in the Carter Reed 2.
Addison Bowman is still recovering from witnessing the death of her husband being taken out by a drunk driver. Lost in grief for over a year, she has her best-friend Sia always looking out for her. But it is time that she slowly starts moving on with her life. This includes moving out of her house she lived with her husband. Luckily a place has come up at The Mauricio, an exclusive high rise building.
Addison meets Cole and there is lots of mystery surrounding him. She saw him previously while out to dinner celebrating her new move. He comes in with a group of men and she can’t help but notice how handsome he is. Addison and Cole soon start to spend more time together but Cole is very closed off about his background.
But the pieces start coming together as you become privy to more information. Addison and Cole can’t fight their attraction, so when Addison finds out about what Cole does for a living, she’s all in. Cole was such an interesting character and I really liked him. Overall the book was entertaining, filled with action, drama and romance.
