Book Review: Lost in Scotland

Title: Lost in Scotland

Author: Hilaria Alexander

Rating: 4 stars

Sam gets offered a job in Scotland as a Make-Up artist for a new TV production- Abarath that they are shooting there. Sam is after a fresh start as she is left brokenhearted and humiliated by her cheating ex-boyfriend of seven years back in Hollywood.

Sam is captivated by the scenery in Scotland although it takes her a while to get used to the weather. Sam makes friends with her fellow cast members and even manages to catch the eye of the leading man, Hugh.

Hugh has been cast as the lead on Abarath. A beloved novel that is being turned into a TV series. This is his first big role and he wants to do justice to the character and story. Hugh is determined not to get distracted but there is a certain girl he can’t take his mind off.

Sam and Hugh have some serious chemistry and a relationship slowly develops between the couple. But they must keep their relationship on the down-low due to the nature of the business and Sam is wary of her past getting out. Sam soon settles into everything Scotland but there are other forces playing into their relationship. But overall you can see that these two love each other.

I am a sucker for any books set in Scotland and I love any mention of Outlander since reading the books and watching the TV series. I love the setting and the atmosphere of the book and I am looking forward to reading the next book.
